Focus Areas

NATURAL STATE has identified the major barriers to successful large-scale restoration and rewilding as:

  1. Capacity and infrastructure

  2. Impact monitoring

  3. Adequate financing

ADDRESSING THE BARRIERS TO SCALE

Without addressing these challenges, restoration and rewilding efforts will never get the scale needed to help mitigate climate change, reverse the extinction crisis or provide the foundation for the Sustainable Development Goals. NATURAL STATE is therefore committed to addressing each of these barriers. We are focusing on helping build capacity and infrastructure in parts of the world where it is most needed, revolutionizing impact monitoring technology so that the success or failure of interventions can be robustly and cost-effectively measured and helping make restoration sustainable though innovative financial mechanisms. We believe that by addressing these key barriers, restoration efforts will be taken to scale globally.
